The Verdigris Agaric (Stropharia aeruginosa) is a distinctive mushroom with a deep blue-green cap often dotted with small white veil fragments. Young caps appear bell-shaped, flattening with age and losing their scales. Found in grassy woodland, lawns, and woodchip mulches across Britain, this fungus thrives from spring to autumn, frequently in small groups. Its pale grey gills mature to purple-brown but keep white edges, while the stem below the ring is peppered with coarse white scales.
