The British Blackbird is a common sight in gardens and woodlands. Males are glossy black with bright yellow bills and eye rings, while females are dark brown with lighter streaks on their breasts and duller, yellow-brown beaks. Juveniles resemble females but often have copper or gingery streaks. Blackbirds are about 24-25 cm long and weigh between 80-125 g. They are known for their melodic song and ground-foraging habits, feeding on insects, worms, and berries. Their nests are cup-shaped and made from grass, straw, and mud.
