A variegated mix of different mysterious shades of purple and dark black, beautiful and unknown like distant galaxies.
You can choose from platinum sock or upcycled platinum sock. Any visual differences you perceive when comparing the photos are due to inter-skein variation and the photos being taken ten minutes apart in time, during which the light conditions subtly changed. In real life, you would need to read the label to tell them apart.
The upcycled version is spun from the same high quality merino as standard platinum sock. It uses leftovers from the mill, saving perfectly good wool from being wasted, and is virtually identical to the regular version. It is equally soft but, rather than the extreme smoothness of the platinum base, it has a very slightly cosier texture. They are almost indistinguishable and I can only be sure which is which because I labelled them. The upcycled is, of course, better for the environment.
It is a superwash treated 4ply sock weight with 75% merino wool for softness and warmth and 25% nylon for strength and durability. Around 420 metres per 100g skein. Suitable for 2-3mm needles.
