The Tussar Silk Moth belongs to the Antheraea genus, and their caterpillars produce wild silk that can be collected from forests. Tussar silk is more textured than that produced by the domesticated silk moth, and is a deep gold colour. Varieties are produced in many countries, including China, India and Japan.
It is a soft and smooth superwash treated sock (4ply/fingering) weight yarn spun from 75% cosy merino wool with 25% nylon for enhanced durability. Around 84 metres per 20g mini skein. Suitable for 2-3mm needles.
