With their fabulous train of colourful tail feathers, peacocks are a sight to behold. This yarn is a beautiful peacock blue.
It is a superwash treated 4ply sock weight with 75% merino wool for softness and warmth, and 25% nylon for strength and durability. Around 420 metres per 100g skein. Suitable for 2-3mm needles.
This upcycled yarn is spun from the same high quality merino as standard platinum sock. It uses leftovers from the mill, saving perfectly good wool from being wasted, and is virtually identical to the regular version. It is equally soft but, rather than the extreme smoothness of the platinum base, it has a very slightly cosier texture. They are almost indistinguishable and I can only be sure which is which because I labelled them. (If it helps, Mads likens it to a blended whisky rather than a single malt!) Being upcycled is, of course, better for the environment.
This yarn is presented as a skein. If you would like it caked then this adds 24h to the dispatch time and costs £2. You can purchase this service here:
